There are local recycling programs for automotive and rechargeable batteries. There is not a program for dry cell (AA, AAA, C, D) batteries in Peace River Regional District at this time. Automotive Batteries Automotive recyclers, metal salvagers and battery repair shops will accept lead-acid batteries for recycling. Depending on the price of lead and other battery components, the shop may actually purchase the battery from you. Regional landfills will accept batteries for a fee. Rechargeable Batteries You can recycle
at Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, Radio Shack and Zellers. Dry Cell Batteries In some communities, small household batteries can be recycled. This program is not available in PRRD at this time. We have found that Websites often become unavailable for a few days, only to return. For that reason, we do not remove bad links hastily.
