| Waste Reduction Office has been presenting information to students of all ages since 1997. Eco-educators use a variety of mediums such as hands-on environmental crafts, interactive lessons--complete with worksheets and quizzes--or games to make the lesson interesting as well as informative. | ![]() |

Our program has evolved largely because teachers and other educators have requested certain topics and curriculum needs. In 2000, Sally Emory, program director of Waste Reduction Office was awarded the Minister's Environment Award in the category of Eco-education. The Minister of Environment, Joan Sawicki, presented the award in recognition of the positive response to the school programs. Since this time, educational programs in the Peace Region have expanded to reach even more age levels and curriculum needs. Our education program is not limited to schools.
