Composting is Mother Nature’s method of recycling. The natural nutrients of waste organic matter are transformed into a nutrient rich soil conditioner.

This conditioner, called humus, or compost, can be used in gardens, on the lawn, as potting soil and in hanging baskets.

Composting turns kitchen and yard waste into useable nutrition for all plants.

Compost adds important elements to the soil, such as carbon, phosphorus, and nitrogen.

It increases water retention and helps break up heavy clay soils.

Your final compost product depends largely on the materials you add to your pile in the beginning.

Read on to find out how you can create the most natural, effective soil conditioner.

WHY COMPOST?

  • Reduces your personal volume of garbage.
  • Conserves water by increasing the water holding capacity of soils.
  • Replaces the need for harsh chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
  • Increases plant growth by returning nutrients to the soil.
  • It's fun!!
